THE PROJECT

Vagamente Retrò is a personal research project poised between art and fashion, centuries-old traditions, botanical studies and chemistry. Elena Gradara founded Vagamente Retrò in 2015, after two experimental theses in the field of sustainability in fashion. Since then, her work has led her to seek ways to reduce environmental impact and to research textile arts and traditions. In Vagamente Retrò productions the environmental impact is minimized as much as possible, through the use of ancient or deadstock natural fabrics. Her civic commitment leads her to collaborate with solidarity tailors and local agri-food producers in the recovery of waste food.
